Vinyl Graphic Technician

Salary: $13.00 to $14.00 /hour


The Graphics Technician is responsible for cutting and application of vinyl decals and stencils to the aircraft and its components. The Graphics Technician is responsible for maintaining the department on schedule and inventory stocked. Along with designing and installing the vinyl lettering.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate PC and Mac workstation with graphic design software; manipulate, maintain and store design files, and send files to vinyl cutting machines for plotting

• Operate vinyl cutting machines for use with multiple types of vinyl films

• Layout, cut and apply vinyl graphics

• Review work orders and artwork to ensure understanding of requirements for each job; follow up with questions and/or discrepancies with direct managers as needed

• Inspect finished work for accuracy and quality before the job is transferred to the next department

• Record and report materials used for each work order into the Keyed-In systems

• Understand and follow safety and quality control procedures

• Systems, Software and Equipment – proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software as well graphic design software such as Flexi; operate different tools including, but not limited to vinyl cutting/plotting machines; demonstrated proficiency in vinyl application methods; accurately read and use tape measures
Education and Qualification Requirements

• High school/Technical school graduate and/or minimum 1 year of experience in installation,, production environment is required

• Knowledge of vinyl cutting, and application techniques required
Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• The graphics technician position operates on the Production floor where it can be noisy and dusty; ability to work in various weather conditions and temperatures when in/outdoors; this position may also require off-site assignments at customer job sites and/or vendors

• This role requires the ability to operate different tools including, but not limited to vinyl cutting/plotting machines; may need to use a ladder for various assignments

• Standing for extended periods of time; repetitive motions, bending/stooping, reaching/grasping and carrying/lifting; requires the ability to lift various items up to 50 pounds or more

• Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand
